Training in the real world
At least one session will take place in a public location, giving you the chance to practice your new skills in everyday environments with plenty of support and guidance.
This helps bridge the gap between training class and real life, making it easier to apply what you've learned.

Why is the first session puppy free?
This relaxed, puppy-free start gives you time to settle in, meet me and the other course participants, and learn the foundations without needing to manage an excited, wriggly, puppy at the same time!
It sets you up with a few key skills to practise at home so you feel confident and prepared when your puppy joins you in week two.
We’ll look at:
  • Equipment
  • Reward types and how to use them
  • Simple lead-handling skills
  • Markers
You’ll also have the opportunity to ask about any early puppy challenges you may be experiencing.

Your instructors
Classes are led by Bonnie, an ABTC registered Animal Traning Instructor, and for most classes I am supported by the lovely Cat Evans.
Before joining the dog world, Cat worked as a primary school teacher and now has many years experience as a professional dog walker. Her ability to encourage confidence and support both puppies and their humans makes her a valued part of the puppy team, and having two instructors means even more opportunity for individual support.

Celebrate your progress:
Every participant receives a log book to track their progress and recap the exercises, plus a certificate, rosette and gift bag at the end of the course.
