Foundation Scent Course Terms and Conditions
BOOKING, PAYMENT & CANCELLATIONS
The 5 week course costs £100.
£20 deposit is required to secure your space on the course.
Refunds are only possible before the course starts if I am able to fill your space.
No refunds can be given once the course has started.
SPECTATORS
You are most welcome to attend training with other family members, but children must always be supervised by an appropriate adult and must not disrupt the class or approach other dogs without trainer and owner’s consent.
EQUIPMENT
All training methods used in classes are force free and based on positive reinforcement. No aversive tools will be allowed in class, this includes but is not limited to: choke chains, prong collars, spray collars and electric collars. No extender leads to be used in class, if you need to borrow a normal length lead, please ask. Dogs must wear correctly fitting collar and/or harness and must display a legal ID tag.
CLASS/VENUE RULES
Dogs must be kept on leads at all times unless you are specifically asked to remove a lead by the trainer.
Please give your dog plenty of opportunity to toilet before attending class. If your dog does toilet either inside or outside of the premises, please clear up and let me know so that I can disinfect the area as necessary.
When arriving for your class, do not crowd doorways and always give other dogs and participants plenty of space.
Please report any injury (human or dog) to the trainer so that it can be recorded.
A first aid kit is available.
Dogs must not attend class if unwell or showing signs of parasites.
I reserve the right to ask a dog to leave if I believe it could be a risk to other dogs or humans at the premises, due to either health or temperament.
Bitches in season must not come to classes until they are no longer attracting unwanted attention from other dogs.
You are responsible for your dog at all times.
Please respect the personal space of all other participants and their dogs.
If at any time you are asked to do something you are uncomfortable with or that you feel is not appropriate for you or your dog for whatever reason, please do let me know. I want both humans and dogs to enjoy their classes and your feedback will always be appreciated.
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU
Your dog on a well fitting harness and a normal length lead.
Plenty of high value food rewards that your dog really likes. Small pieces of soft food work best for training, and a training pouch or bum bag is preferable for more timely delivery of reward.
There are water bowls on site but you are welcome to bring your own.
FINALLY...Training is a great way of spending quality time with your dog. Certain rules need to be in place for everyone’s safety and I know it can seem a little daunting reading it all, but I want you and your dog to have fun together and to enjoy your training sessions so the most important thing you need to bring with you (apart from your dog!) is a good sense of humour!
